I teach a flow style of yoga which focuses on the idea of vinyasa – the marriage of breath with movement.

I vary my classes each week, according to the students present. Some weeks it is appropriate to slow right down and focus on alignment and holding postures for strength-building. Other weeks, we may incorporate more of a flow, where the focus is on finding a moving meditation – by focusing on the breath throughout the class.

In all my classes you will find a carefully balanced sequence of standing, seated and relaxation poses, which work to build strength and flexibility in equal measure. We will always focus on breath and finding mental stillness and clarity through the movement of the body and the poses themselves.

For me yoga is about meditation of the mind – the physical benefits are a wonderful bonus to what is essentially a practice of calming the mental state. I am trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, Scaravelli and Therapeutic yoga. I am also trained in Fascia Fitness – which focuses on the health and vitality of the body’s fascia or connective tissue. I incorporate all of these styles into my classes.

My level 1 class is suitable for beginners, and I am also happy to work with pregnant practitioners who have done some yoga in the past.
